Parquet and finishing materials

When deciding to install parquet flooring in your home, we would like to remind you that it is necessary to consider which one is the most suitable for you, in terms of price and quality, when looking at different models, but in no case should you forget about all the additional materials that are needed for its installation. Since they are included in the final price, and without them you cannot do anything. Add to the price the skirting boards, the moldings with which everything will look completely finished, and the pads along with the adhesives, here you do not need concrete products .

In most of the offered options for skirting boards, the materials from which they are made are PVC, MDF and wood, which are covered with paint, a type of varnish or artificial and natural veneer. They have both a decorative and practical function. It is important to choose what color you want, with which you will get a finished look on the floor of the room. You have options to emphasize them, or to give a completely unusual look to your entire interior with quality laminate flooring that you install.

Skirting boards cover the joints well and should be easy to install and dismantle. This is so that you can make additional wiring or paint the walls in a different color if necessary. After choosing these materials, it is time for nails, clips and adhesives. What should they be? If you choose nails, dismantling is impossible, and with clip attachment, after several installations and dismantlings, the assembly becomes loose. However, for now, this is the most preferred option. Do not forget the function of the moldings, which give the finished look again. They are divided into transitional and offset. The options for the material from which they are made again are MDF, PVC, but also aluminum. There are 3 options for installing the parquet and skirting boards, these are: gluing, screws or also clips.

Remember, if you choose the clip fastening, there is a risk of puncturing a pipe. When installing in a room with many bends and corners, there are end caps and corners that will undoubtedly save you a lot of effort and nerves. If you choose this option, it is mandatory to buy them from the same manufacturer. When installing parquet, you must also purchase an underlay. It is used for thermal insulation, moisture insulation and noise insulation, preventing the wooden parquet from moving back and forth. Underlays that are made of natural materials such as cork or wood, as well as impregnated paper, are a good option if you are installing natural parquet.

In case it is not natural, you can use depron or expanded polyethylene. The pads must have adhesive tape, if they do not, you need to buy additional moisture-resistant tape. When you have already chosen all the elements for your parquet, it is time for installation. If you are going to lay it with glue, then approach its choice carefully, because it will attach the parquet directly to the floor without any pads and it needs to be effective against moisture.

Be sure to think everything over again before you start construction, because when gluing you will not be able to fix something if you make a mistake. Before laying the parquet, your water installations and joinery should be checked, and if there is a problem, it should be fixed. After laying the parquet, it is good to use a humidifier during the winter months, which has the function of minimizing the movement of the wood.

The humidity of the air should be maintained higher, as lower values can lead to drying or shrinkage of the parquet. To get the desired parquet floor, it is best to use qualified specialists for its installation, following their recommendations, which they will make after a preliminary inspection of your room.
