What building materials does Baumit offer?

Baumit offers a wide range of building materials for various stages of construction and renovation. The range includes tile adhesives, grouts, primers, plasters, putties, screeds, leveling compounds, mortars, concretes, waterproofing and thermal insulation solutions. The available products may vary according to the current Sico catalogue.

How do I choose the right Baumit tile adhesive?

When choosing, you should take into account the type and size of the tiles, the substrate, the installation location and the operating conditions. For standard ceramic tiles, a regular adhesive may be sufficient, while for porcelain tiles, large-format tiles, underfloor heating or outdoor installation, a flexible adhesive of the appropriate class is usually required. Always check the technical description of the specific product.

Are Baumit screeds suitable for underfloor heating?

Some of the Baumit screeds and floor mixtures are suitable for use with underfloor heating systems. The specific product should be selected according to the type of heating system, the required layer thickness and the requirements of the substrate. For a reliable result, it is important to follow the instructions for laying, drying and gradual switching on of the heating.

Does Baumit offer materials for external thermal insulation?

Yes, Baumit offers comprehensive solutions for external thermal insulation, which can include adhesives, fillers, reinforcing meshes, primers, profiles and decorative facade plasters. To achieve optimal results, it is recommended that the components are selected as part of a compatible system.

What applications are Baumit waterproofing used for?

Baumit waterproofing products can be used in bathrooms, wet rooms, terraces, balconies and other areas exposed to moisture. The appropriate product is selected according to the type of substrate, the degree of water load and the place of application. Particular attention should be paid to corners, joints, floor drains and connections between different surfaces.

What is the difference between primer, putty and plaster?

The primer prepares the base and improves the adhesion of subsequent layers. The filler is used to level and finely smooth the surface, and the plaster forms a thicker protective or decorative layer. The correct consistency and compatibility between the products are important for the strength and durability of the coating.
