Types of parquet laying
When installing natural parquet, it is important to know that the floor on which it will be installed must be completely flat, smooth and dry. If you decide to ignore some of these important indicators, then over time you will have serious problems with the parquet. Do not forget that the parquet copies the floor on which it is installed and for this reason it will acquire its shape even when it is installed over time. It is completely wrong to believe that a laid, albeit high-quality parquet , on a curved and uneven base, that there will be no problems, can still be leveled by sanding, but this is not desirable at the initial stage of installation. An uneven base is the main reason for the creaking of any parquet. Let's discuss a little about humidity regarding this type of floor covering.
Everyone knows that wood, due to its hygroscopicity, will absorb moisture, which in turn will lead to a change in its shape and size, so before installing the parquet, you should check everything to see if it is completely dry. It is good to ask for a measurement, but it should not be forgotten that only the current state will be reflected, so it cannot be leading. Anyone who makes any kind of repair, whether with quality bathroom furniture , kitchen, or for the floor in the rooms, needs an assessment based on a complex of factors. When talking about parquet floors, it is important to take into account the thickness of the screed, as well as the type of screed, what its composition is.
Also, do not think that these materials will be useful to you after a year, it is important to read the storage time. It will also be useful if you place the parquet in the room itself for some time to air-condition. This time is at least two weeks. After the time has elapsed, it is laid. Keep in mind that it can be laid in several ways. There is the so-called dry laying. Where the parquet is laid in the desired way directly on the floor without being glued in any way. For this, it is important that the floor itself is smooth and even, relying on the density of the joint - tongue-and-groove - and wedging from the wall. It is desirable to have wedging, which is done using mounting foam, so that there is some elasticity when the parquet expands or contracts when atmospheric humidity changes. You can also choose between patterns, such as strips, which is a type of flooring in appearance.
It has great repairability, and allows relatively easy removal or addition if necessary on parquet, after which it can safely have a quality tightening or loosening again. You can start laying with tongue-and-groove gluing. In this case, the arrangement is done by placing glue in the assembly itself. The floor must again be flat so that the parquet does not spring. In this arrangement, from the wall, it is necessary to leave a distance of about 1-1.5 centimeters for expansion. Here we must specify that if you choose this type of arrangement, the parquet arrangement is not subject to repair.
Its disassembly is impossible and the damaged area cannot be replaced unless it is glued qualitatively! You can lay the parquet in this way with this gluing if it is for new parquet, because with the old one a good gluing cannot be achieved due to the dirt that has already got in. With parquet that is laid in this way and there is heavy furniture on it, which is along the walls, the glue tears and from there an opening of large joints in the middle of the room. In general, I do not recommend this gluing. There is an option with laying with gluing for the floor, where during the laying itself, glue is placed on the floor with a comb-shaped spatula, and then the parquet is laid on it.
Use adhesives that do not contain water. They have the good property that they dry quickly and can swell when dry, which makes it possible to glue on a not very flat surface. In no case do not undertake to lay parquet on a loose or unstable base. In all cases, it is more expedient and practical to lay parquet by gluing, rather than by screeding, unless this is necessary due to other circumstances.
